Gratitude of the Day: I’m thankful for Riley “Maverick” Lucero. This young man always had a smile on his face and a positive attitude.
I woke up at Glacier Lake with 14 miles to get to Stevens Pass to get into Leavenworth. Between camp and the highway was 14 miles and four big climbs that surpassed the normal PCT 6% grade. Washington showed off again today with amazing aquamarine lakes and beautiful views. I stopped around 10am to drink some coffee and eat some snacks, the wind was calm next to this lake that had a perfect mirror image of the trees that surrounded it. Then it was two more climbs that took me into Stevens Pass Ski resort and to the highway. Zippy and I was able to get a hitch into Leavenworth for lunch and beverages.
