August 18, Day 121: 2096.6-2115.1
Miles Hiked: 18.5
Gratitude of the Day: I’m thankful for the beautiful trail, green ferns and large fir trees.
After playing games into the night and Collin buying drinks for everyone, we woke up to a huge spread at the Timberline Lodge breakfast buffet. Just what was needed. After breakfast it was time to pack up and head back to trail. Today the rain has stopped with some cloud cover still to keep the temperatures cool. I left the lodge at 10am and my next destination was to get to Washington tomorrow. The vistas outside the lodge were amazing and I finally feel like I’m walking home.
The familiar sites put a pep in my step. I stopped at Romona Falls for lunch, a beautiful cascading falls that I’ve day hiked multiple times and here I am walking past it on my way to Canada.
7 miles down trail I came to Lolo Pass and there was a vortex of trail magic there. Around 25 hikers were there to enjoy beer, cocktails, music and food. I was going to hike another 4 miles for the day, but decided to stay and enjoy the festivities.
