June 22, Day 64: 908.6
Miles Hiked: 0
Gratitude of the Day: I’m thankful for my friend Jodie and her husband Johnny. Jodie is one of the most giving people you’d be lucky to meet and call a friend, and her husband matches that equally.
Today the group barely made it out of the town of Mammoth. No one was motivated to get out and do miles except Clancy who is trying to get to South Lake Tahoe to meet his girlfriend. The rest of us packed out bags and left the Airbnb and headed to Mammoth Brewing, where we sat at for 4 hours eating and drinking beer. At 2pm we took the trolley to the end of the line and hitched into Red Meadows, where again no one was motivated. We sat at the picnic table eating more food and drinking more beer. In the end, I’m back to the trail but didn’t do any miles today. Tomorrow I’ll walk by the Devil’s Postpile Monument and then actually take an alternate route of the John Muir Trail (JMT) instead of the PCT because it passes by more lakes and is more scenic. The JMT then reconnects to the PCT 12 miles later.
