June 29, Day 71: 1017.9-1022.9

It was a slow start today to get out of Kennedy Meadows North because the hiker shuttle didn’t leave until 10am and could only take 9 hikers at a time. So it was breakfast, mail my bear can and other things I didn’t need home. By the time it was my turn to take the shuttle I didn’t get dropped off at the pass until 12:30. Then since I had service I called and talked with my parents and called Zpacks (the maker of my backpack) because the frame is breaking. They were super amazing and my pack is still under warranty, so they’re sending me the part I need for free, awesome! Today the plan was to hike 10-13 miles, started out under the hot sun but a couple hours later and only 5 miles on trail, I’m now sitting in my tent because it’s pouring rain and tiny hail pellets. The weather report says it’s supposed to continue raining until 7pm. So we’ll see if i am able to get any more miles in today.
