June 27, Day 69: 988.1-1006.9
Miles Hiked: 18.8
Gratitude of the Day: I’m thankful for hitting the 1000 mile mark.
A quick run down of the day. It was super flat, hit 10 miles at Dorothy Lake and stopped to swim, air out the tent and sleeping bag. Hiked another 6 miles to a cascading water fall, sat there for 2 hours soaking my feet and hanging out with Huck and Shakedown. Then hiked another 4 miles to another stream where I’m camped with Huck, Shakedown, Clancy, and Savage Turtle. We played Huck’s backpacking games, first up was Wiffle Ball Homerun Derby (I won) and then two games of Bocce Ball. Overall it was an amazing day to hit a huge milestone on trail, 1000 miles and to have a chill day after yesterday’s 4 Hump Day.
